Tool Room Technician I Description:

• Assist with the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of tooling, dies, molds, fixtures, and production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tooling and equipment to minimize downtime and support production goals.
• Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, and reassemble tooling components according to specifications.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Operate tool room equipment including grinders, drill presses, lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
• Support die changes, tooling setups, and equipment adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist in identifying root causes of equipment failures.
• Fabricate or modify tooling components to improve performance and extend tool life.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment utilizing 5S principles.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, tool room, maintenance, machining, or automotive environment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.
