Tool Room Technician I Description:
- Assist with the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of tooling, dies, molds, fixtures, and production equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tooling and equipment to minimize downtime and support production goals.
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, and reassemble tooling components according to specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Operate tool room equipment including grinders, drill presses, lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
- Support die changes, tooling setups, and equipment adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist in identifying root causes of equipment failures.
- Fabricate or modify tooling components to improve performance and extend tool life.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment utilizing 5S principles.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, tool room, maintenance, machining, or automotive environment preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
