Pay: $19–$21 per hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire, Full-Time
Shift: 1st | Mon–Fri | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Clinical Scheduler Description:

As a Clinical Scheduler, you’ll play a vital role in the daily operations of a medical practice by handling patient communication, appointment scheduling, and prescription coordination. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and is passionate about healthcare.

Duties and Requirements:

  • Answer and triage incoming calls from patients, providers, and pharmacies

  • Review and respond to electronic communications, including documents, referrals, and telephone encounters (Jellybeans)

  • Escalate urgent matters to MAs or physicians as needed

  • Independently handle routine requests such as appointments, refills, referrals, and records

  • Book internal visits (physicals, labs, office visits) and coordinate external referrals

  • Call patients to confirm next-day appointments and send pre-visit forms

  • Manage prescription refills and prior authorizations through CoverMyMeds or direct contact

  • E-prescribe non-controlled medications upon provider approval

  • Schedule and coordinate with specialists, fax records, and update patients

  • Request and send medical records per physician instruction

  • Communicate and collaborate closely with Medical Assistants on patient flow and urgent needs

  • Track medication samples, monitor expiration dates, and coordinate restocking

  • Assist with completing forms (DME, home health orders, etc.) and ensure timely follow-ups

  • Complete end-of-day tasks: forwarding phones, checking voicemails, and prepping documents for the next day

Key Skills:

  • Strong communication and phone etiquette

  • High attention to detail and multitasking ability

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a clinical team

  • Prior healthcare or medical office experience preferred
